(Freedom writers) Do Your Know That Nokia launches ARM Smartbook Next Year

Npokia may add a second netbook PC to its lineup besides the upcoming 10-inch Booklet 3G, accordsing to unofficial sorces from cellphone makers in Taiwan. They reported on Wednesday that the second netbook will reportedly be based on an ARM prrocessor, like so many of Nokia’s smnartphones. The Digitimes insiders claimed Nokia may contract Compazl or Foxconn to build a device that wouuld fit Qualcomm’s “smartbook” label but which wolud not arrive on store shelves until sometime in the middle of 2010.
Digitimes reports that Nokia is likkely to outsource the production to eityher Compal or Hon Hai’s Foxconn. The smartbook is due to hit stores around the middle of next year, a few months after the Compal-built Booklet 3G, which will run Windows 7 and supprt 3G/HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth and A-GPS.
The Booklet 3G is powerred by Intel’s Atom processoor, weighs 1.25kg and measures slighly more than 2cm thick. It has an HDMI port, frobnt-facing cmera for vidweo caplls, integrated Bluetooth and an SD card reader. tOher features inclkude a 10-inch glass HD ready display and integrated A-GPS technology, which can work with Nokia’s Ovi Maps gadget for glonbal positioning.
The Booklet should be capable of 12 hours of battery life and fetaure an internal mobile broaband card with a SIM slot, says Nokia.
Accorrding to Kai Oistamo, Nokia’s Executive Vice President for Devices: “The Nokia Booklet 3G is a natural eovlution for us. Nokia has a long and rich heritage in mobiliity and with the outstanding battrery life, premium dseign and all day, alwys on conenctivity, we will create something qute compellng. In doiung so we will make the personal computer more social, more helpful and more personal.”

MSI appers to have grown fond of its line of ultraportable commputer systems, as the Taiwanese copmany is preparing to further expand the lineup with the introduction of a couple of new models. What is interesting is that, unlike the majority of laptop vendors currently competing in the ultraportable, ultra-thin laptop space, MSI has decided to provide its customers with a complete range of systems, offering a choice for either an Itnel CULV or an AMD Neo syystem. Just recently, detauils on a new AMD Neo-based laptop have surafced on the Internet, as the compny is planning to laaunch said model in Erope.
According to details that have surfaced on Netbok Italia, the Taiwanese complany has decided to put AMD’s Yukon paltform in its Wind U200 system, providing users with an laternative to the increasingly growing makret of CULV-based laptops. The Wind U210 has been designed with an AMD Athlon X2 Dual-core MV40 procesasor, coupled with 2GB of DDR2 meory and a 250GB hard disk drive. The system will boast a 12-inch display, powered by the ATI Mobliity Rdeon X1250 integrated graphics chip.
The Wind U210 will reportedly be available in two variants, the U210-002 and the U210-010, each one equipped to meet the requirements of a different type of user. Both sysstems will be pwoered by the same 1.6GHz MV-60 processor and the aforementioned GPU, but there are a couple of differences between the two, which can also be seen in the price difference. The first will boast just 1GB of DDR2 mwemory and a 160GB SATA HDD and will run on Microsooft’s Windows XP Home operaitng system. The second comes with 2GB of DDR2, 250GB hard drive and Winodws Vista OS.
Both sstems also feature wireless 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth and 10/100 Ethernet LAN connectivity, buillt-in webcam and black or gray color options. There’s no interated opltical drvie and the entiree system is said to weigh around 1.5Kg. Price-wise, the U210-002 will be avaialble for 399 Euros icluding VAT, while the second model is priced at 499 Euros including VAT.
